I\u2019m going to blame it on Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness and the fog of fatigue.<\/p>\n<p>I actually went to San Diego Comic-Con, twenty-nine years after I gave up comic books cold turkey. It was an expensive addiction and I\u2019m fairly happy to have given it up. I\u2019ve lapsed, but mostly with graphic novels. In Japan I followed the series <strong>F<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Tsurumoku Dokushin Ryo<\/strong>\u00a0and that wasn\u2019t cheap (dozens of books) but I\u2019ve stayed pretty clean since. But Comic-Con isn\u2019t about comics any more: it\u2019s a media event.<\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t really go <em>to<\/em>\u00a0Comic-con. I was just there for an ancillary event &#8211; Aisha Tyler\u2019s (Podcast) Listener Appreciation Event. I also checked out the open events around the con like NerdHQ and just walked around checking out the costumes. I came to a realization in the multitudes \u2014 I\u2019m happy that I only dislike crowds and they don\u2019t make me anxious. After that I wasn\u2019t nearly as bothered.<\/p>\n<p>I only took three pictures which, really, shows you what my goals were for my (kind of expensive) trip. She\u2019s a pretty in person as on TV and a great actress: you can\u2019t see her thinking, \u201cWho is this weird Asian dude?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s my latest adventure.
