My favorite place for breakfast in Tokyo, Hoshino Coffee, doesn\u2019t open until 9am so we went to Berg, a tiny little store we\u2019ve been to before. The food is good, the owner is quite liberal (judging by the signs promoting peace in Palestine and allowing women a quiet place to have a beer) and it\u2019s pretty good. It\u2019s also quite cheap, less than \u00a5700 for either of these plates and coffee.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"IMG_0857.jpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.i8u.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_0857.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"667\" height=\"500\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"IMG_0858.jpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.i8u.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_0858.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"667\" height=\"500\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sorry to disturb you but here\u2019s a ridiculous picture of me.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"IMG_9020.jpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.i8u.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_9020.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"667\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We met my sister\u2019s friend Jen for lunch and it was such a nice day that we walked around Tokyo for a while to get there. We visited my favorite shrine in Tokyo, Kanda Myojin, which turns out is near where Jen works. We met near Tokyo station, though.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"IMG_0859.jpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.i8u.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_0859.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"667\" height=\"500\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"IMG_0860.jpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.i8u.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_0860-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"667\" height=\"500\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We had kushiyaki but very fancy kushiyaki. The fried shrimp wrapped in shiso, negi with chicken, and I think green peppers were only the start of nine or so skewers. I didn\u2019t \u00a0take a picture of the soup or the dessert nor do I remember exactly what they were but it was excellent.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"IMG_0862.jpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.i8u.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_0862.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"667\" height=\"500\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After lunch we wandered around central Tokyo for a while and here\u2019s another picture of us in windy (and chilly) Tokyo.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"IMG_9025.jpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.i8u.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_9025.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"667\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We met another old friend for dinner and we went back to Keio Department store to a tofu restaurant. My dinner doesn\u2019t show my yudofu because I already ate it and it\u2019s kind of boring visually. It was in hot water, in a hot kettle, on that wooden plate.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"IMG_0863.jpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.i8u.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_0863.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"667\" height=\"500\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My sister\u2019s tofu was simmered in soy milk and was probably as bland as mine was. The skewers were good, tofu topped with yuzu miso and black miso.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;\" title=\"IMG_9023.jpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/www.i8u.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_9023.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"667\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We got back around 9, and that\u2019s why the comments are short.
