No more deadlifts without adult supervision.

I went to the gym yesterday even though it was HOT out. Fortunately, it’s been cooling off at night and the 90°F heat doesn’t come on until midday. Or at least that’s what I keep telling myself. I was having trouble lifting as much as I thought I should be able to, but I kept doing dumb things like deadlifts even though my back hurt before I started. I’m paying for it today. Good thing I made an appointment with the acupuncturist a month-and-a-half in advance (he’s been studying in China.)

The worst part about my back hurting is that I can’t play golf. That’s only two rounds of 9 holes and one trip to the driving range before I hurt myself. Sheesh.

What would I say?

Megan is in town for a quick trip and I went out to the driving range with her and her dad. Her dad used to be a golf pro, so he has all sorts of suggestions. Mainly relax, and rebalance. By the end of the bucket of balls I was hitting them into the guard in front of me rather than down the range. I also got a haircut from Megan.

New expensive haircut.

More exciting things happened this weekend, including volunteering to help teach computer skills to elderly residents of low-income housing and getting yelled at for not providing Wifi. Heck, I’m not providing anything other than, “Here’s how you get to your email.” No good deed goes unpunished.

Oh, and I played golf today and when I actually tried to relax, things went better. Hooray. That and cheating and I finally had the lowest score.
