So this week the burger crew went to Laurelhurst Market, where my sister said she had the best burger she’s ever had. I think it was great, but I’m not sure if it was any better than the Slow Bar or the best Sean and i remember having at Lovely Hula Hands. In any case, the burger was great, the flavor was great, I wish the meat had more flavor, I think someone was afraid of salt (though certainly not whoever cooked the tasty fries), and DON’T MISS THE DESSERT.

I had a bite of her burger there. It was pretty damn great. I’m honestly conflicted because it could very well be the best burger I’ve ever had so far (and deserves the title more than my cousin who likes Burger Shack in NYC for that title… good, but not the best ever). But the conflict comes from having had some really good burgers, especially when hungry, which tends to skew things. And well, in my dreams, I’ll go to Japan and some brilliant hole in the wall will serve a perfect (American style) burger made from fatty kobe beef with the drippings running into the bun. Oh right, sorry, diet.
In any case, their daily steak+salad vs the burger? Burger wins and you don’t need to leave Portland to get such a good burger. Down in the SJ, CA area, I hear Alexander’s Steakhouse has a good burger. It’s a bit over from HP in Santa Clara and Apple in Cupertino.
