Guy Fieri is my hero.

Just wanted to say, Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives is not something I should be watching before dinner. I saw some people talking trash about his cooking show, but I’ve never seen it. Triple-D is the shiznit and that’s all I need to know.

Watching the barbecue show gave me serious cravings for the brisket at the Willamette General Store in West Linn and I finally made it back there today. I think the brisket could use some more smoke, but I really shouldn’t try to improve on something so tasty. They’re a Trager dealer and they also run the grills and sell smoked meats and sandwiches. Funny thing to sell at a hardware store. If they were any closer, I’d be much fatter. Fortunately, they’re 30 minutes away and that’s when I’m driving like a maniac.

  1. Guy….DUDE,
I think you need to put together a cookbook together with recipes for home from your “Diners, Drive-In, and Dives,” series. This is SO cruel. You KNOW most of us working Joe’s will never get to even a few of these places. I can’t begin to tell you how bad I want to ride shotgun.

  2. I got to meet guy when he came to pgh to shoot and episode… he is a total ass… totally stuck on himself and ignorant. His manager, she is an ass too. He never even came around the workers until it was time to shoot a scene and he tried to change recipies to suit him. Total dick. I still do watch “DDD”, but with a new perspective now.

  3. I think Guy Fietti is wonderful. He likes the same kind of food I like–man food–though I like mine with fewer jalapenos and a lot less cayenne. (g)

It’s a good thing I can’t travel to all the restaurants he visits because, if I did, I’d be dead of atherosclerosis inside of a year. But boy, would I die happy!

I want to go to the Magnolia Cafe in Austin; it was on tonight’s episode. Their pancakes sound heavenly!
